• The rinds from 2 grapefruit
• 2 cups of sugar
• A bit of grapefruit juice from those grapefruit
Cut rinds into 1/2 inch strips and cover with water in a pot and simmer for 10 minutes. Drain it and simmer them in water, five more times, 10 minutes a piece, draining each time.
After the last time, if you don’t want to just give up, mix some sugar and grapefruit juice in the pot (enough to wet the sugar). Cook over low heat until the rinds are tender. Take out and straighten each piece and lay them on a non-stick surface of your choosing overnight. Finally, roll them around in sugar until they’re coated and you’re done.
